NOTE: Lujax tmi is going to interrupt its functions shortly and these web pages may not be
available after a while. If you find this applet/application useful, please download and save the runnable This Java 2 -applet / application calculates rectangular, thin plate vibration and buckling modes and corresponding eigenvalues and -frequencies with appropriate boundary conditions. The applet uses finite element method (FEM) with Kirchhoff thin plate plate assumption, I.e., the through thickness shear deformations are negligible. Further, the deformations are assumed to be small and linearity is thus maintained. |

The FE-mesh is composed of regular mesh of rectangular plate elements with cubic shape functions. Boundary conditions and buckling edge loads may be given for the mesh edges. Orthotropic or general anisotropic material bending matrix may be input directly and its orientation may be adjusted as desired. |
The applet requires a recent Java applet plug-in to be installed and activated in the used web browser (otherwise, the applet frame will not be shown or it is shown grayed). If needed, an appropriate java plug-in may be downloaded from, for example, Sun Inc.:s homepages. |
The applet has been verified and its convergence properties have been tested in a number of problem cases. Verification cases and results can be checked here. User's manual and theory reference are also available (Adobe Acrobat -compatible reader is required).

Tailored versions for commercial applications are possible. Please ask for more.
Since I am doing platefem development mainly as a hobby, I have no fixed release dates to give. You may also contact me and propose your own ideas for applet development. However, I will keep the right to choose the features and timetable to be implemented as far as public domain platefem is concerned. For commercial versions, please take contact!
